On my nightstand |
But even if I could be, which I can't, I never want to be delivered from it. I. Love. Books.
There, I said it. It will only be a revelation to you...my family has long learned to live with it's effects...moving piles of books off the couch when they want to sit down...listening to me go on and on and on about my newest find...tolerating the truth that Amazon gift cards will always be my gift of choice.
And my dear husband? Patient and understanding beyond words, he is. He's convinced that UPS has taken up a permanent parking space in our driveway...struggles to understand why I need to stop at every used bookstore we pass...removes the book from my hands and quietly shuts off my bedside lamp after I have fallen asleep in the wee hours of the morning.
Is it any wonder that I want to share my love of books with you? After all, we are family!
So, here's what I'm reading now...along with the books on my coffee table, end tables, kitchen table...you get the idea!

Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good- Jan Karon
Mitford. If I didn't live here, I would live there. Yes, I understand it is a fictional place, though it is based on Blowing Rock, NC, one of my favorite haunts. Each time I get lost in one of the books in the Mitford Series, I feel I am coming home. This is the most recent book in the series, long awaited by Mitford fans. I tried to read it s.l.o.w.l.y but failed miserably. Now I need to read it again! Excuses, excuses!
Choosing Gratitude- Your Journey to Joy- Nancy Leigh DeMoss
Having just come out of a "character building" last two years, I found my default setting had gone from "thankfulness" to "grumbliness". Pain can do that to you. But my heart's desire is to become a woman of praise, grateful to God for all He allows in my life. And this book is helping me to do that!
A Beautiful Mess Photo Idea Book- 95 Inspiring Ideas For Photographing Your Friends, Your World, And Yourself- Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman
Being a visual learner, this book has been a veritable smorgasbord of "eye-candy" for me! Challenging myself to get out of my box and see the world through different lenses has helped me be more aware of what's around me. Stunning. High gloss. Inspiring! Need I go on?
